Buying a CNC waterjet machine is not like ordering a component. It's a significant capital decision, the machine will be in your facility for years, and if something goes wrong — during shipping, commissioning, or production — how your supplier responds matters as much as the machine itself.
There's also a specific hesitation that comes with buying from a Chinese manufacturer if you haven't done it before. The price is attractive, the specs look solid, but the distance introduces unknowns: What does actual support look like when you're 8,000 kilometers away? Who shows up if there's a problem at installation? What does the warranty actually cover?
This is Wonlean's actual process, from first contact to post-installation. No steps are skipped for the sake of a cleaner story.
The first thing we ask isn't "what's your budget" — it's "what are you cutting, how thick, and what finish quality do you need?" The answers to those questions determine which machine makes sense for your situation, and there's no point discussing price until we know whether we're talking about a standard gantry system or a tube-and-plate combo, a single-head or multi-head, a portable unit or a full-format CNC.
We ask about your floor space, your power supply (some of our pumps are 3-phase 380V, some configurations differ), whether you have existing compressed air, and what your production volume looks like. A machine that's right for 8-hour single-shift production is not the same machine that's right for 24/7 multi-shift operation.
This conversation takes an hour or less. At the end of it, we know which configuration fits your situation — and we'll tell you honestly if there's a cheaper option that does the same job.
This is the part customers are often surprised by. Send us the hardest piece you need to cut — your most difficult material, your tightest tolerance, your worst-case geometry. We'll cut it on the machine you're considering and send you the result.
We do this because it's the most efficient way to eliminate uncertainty on both sides. If the result meets your requirements, you have physical evidence before making a purchasing decision. If it doesn't, we find out now rather than after the machine is installed. In practice, the trial cutting step also often surfaces requirements the customer hadn't thought to mention — a specific surface finish, a kerf width constraint, a fixturing challenge — that affect the final configuration.
There's no charge for this. The material cost and machine time are on us.
Every Wonlean machine runs for 72 continuous hours before it passes outgoing inspection. Not a functional check, not a calibration run. Seventy-two hours under power, running.
We do this because most latent manufacturing faults are time-dependent. A connection that's 95% secure will overheat under sustained load. A seal that's just barely holding will weep after several thermal cycles. A component that's at the edge of its tolerance will reveal itself after hours of operation, not minutes. The 72-hour run is how we find these faults in our factory rather than having you find them in yours.
Customers are welcome to witness the pre-shipment test in person. Factory visits are open — we'll arrange accommodation in Liaoyang if needed.
We handle sea freight and, where it makes sense, air freight. We prepare export documentation, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. For machines requiring CE or other regional certifications, we provide the documentation needed for customs clearance.
We don't handle customs clearance on the destination side — that's the buyer's responsibility — but we've shipped to 80+ countries and we know what the common sticking points are. If you've never imported capital equipment before, we'll walk you through what to expect, what your customs broker will ask for, and the realistic timeline from factory to your floor.
Typical sea freight transit to Europe is 25–35 days. North America is 20–30 days. Southeast Asia is 7–15 days. We'll give you an accurate estimate based on the destination port when we confirm the order.
Wonlean engineers are available for on-site installation and commissioning. For international orders, we can arrange for a technician to travel to your facility — costs and logistics are agreed as part of the purchase contract. For customers who prefer to handle installation themselves, we provide detailed installation manuals, video guidance, and real-time remote support via video call during the commissioning process.
The machine ships with a full set of tools required for installation and initial setup. First-batch consumables — abrasive garnet, spare nozzles, spare mixing tubes — are included to get you running without waiting for a separate parts order.
This is where the real difference between suppliers shows up, and where we're most specific about what we commit to.
Wonlean's after-sales response commitments are:
2 hours: We have a solution proposal or diagnostic assessment back to you.
24 hours: A support engineer is assigned and dispatched (for domestic customers).
48 hours: On-site arrival for domestic customers.
7×24: Support is available every day, all year. There's no "call back Monday" here.
For international customers, on-site response timelines depend on geography. What doesn't change is the 2-hour initial response and the commitment to remote diagnosis and resolution wherever physically possible. Most issues — software, calibration, cutting parameter questions, consumable selection — are fully resolvable remotely. We've learned over 15+ years that a fast, competent remote response prevents most situations from becoming on-site visits.
The standard warranty on Wonlean CNC waterjet machines is 2 years — double the industry standard in China, where 1-year warranties are the norm. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the machine structure, motion system, and electrical components. Consumables (nozzles, mixing tubes, high-pressure seals) are wear items and are not covered — this is standard across the industry.
Technical support — meaning access to our engineering team for operational questions, parameter guidance, troubleshooting, and software updates — is free for the lifetime of the machine. Not for 2 years. Not until the next model comes out. As long as the machine is running, our technical team is available to you.
We can offer these terms because of the 72-hour pre-shipment run and the 1,100-point quality inspection every machine goes through before it ships. We've already stress-tested the machine. The warranty isn't a risk for us — it's a commitment we're confident we can keep.
Standard international payment terms are T/T (telegraphic transfer): deposit on order confirmation, balance before shipment, with final payment arrangements available for verified buyers. Letter of Credit (LC) is accepted for larger orders.
For domestic customers, Wonlean offers installment financing up to 24 months — the longest installment period in the Chinese waterjet industry. We work with several financial partners to make this accessible without requiring the machine to sit idle while financing is arranged.
If you're at the early stage — comparing suppliers, trying to figure out what configuration you actually need, wondering whether your application is even right for waterjet — that first conversation is free and carries no obligation. We talk to people at every stage of the buying process, and we'd rather help you figure out the right answer than push a sale that isn't the right fit.
